PROPELLER HUB FROM WW1 GERMAN WILHELM WOLFF AIRCRAFT
Extremely rare and unusual item, it is the actual propeller hub from an early WW1 German Wilhelm Wolff aircraft as fitted to a Mercedes PS 260 Engine. It is part of the propeller number 16346 and has been fitted with a later battery powered clock. There is inlaid timber to make the clock face and a balloon & basket at 12 O’clock, a side view monoplane at 3 O’clock, a Zeppelin at mooring at 6 O’clock and a monoplane top (or underside) at 9 O’clock. Both the hour and minute hands are Zeppelins. A great centre piece to any trench art collection.
